Maoist party abandoned the agenda of inclusion in halfway: Former Combatants

Kathmandu (Pahichan) October 29 – Former Maoist combatants have said that Maoist party has abandoned several issues related to inclusion. Ramesh Basel Karan and Rajan Thapa who have formed a joint struggle committee said Maoist leadership backtracked from halfway and they are organizing to fulfill the remaining tasks.

“Maoist raised the issues of gender and sexual minority and other marginalized community but they are now focusing to gain power,” Basel said, adding that they are united to fulfill the remaining tasks of Maoist insurgency.

Rajan Thapa said they were discharged as disqualified combatants who played a vital role to liberate the people and country. He said Maoist party is merging with CPN-UML and the strength of Maoist party is gradually decreasing.

Karan and Subas of Janasamajbadi Party said are participating in the election to boost the agenda of inclusion. Karan is preparing to contest from Nawalparsi and Subas from Dhading. “We want to launch a peaceful movement to secure the rights of all marginalized community including gender and sexual minority,” Subas said.
