Final election result dismays LGBTI community

Kathmandu (Pahichan) February 17 – Election Commission has submitted the final election result to President. With this, EC has completed its tasks of conducting elections. Now, parties cannot correct the names.

However, sexual and gender minority has raised questions saying that parties flouted the constitutional provisions. Transgender rights activist Bhumika Shrestha raised the questions about the political parties which flouted the constitutional provisions.

“The article 42 of constitution states there would be representation of sexual and gender minority but parties breached such provisions appointing those who are near and dear to them,” she wrote in her Facebook status. She raised the doubts on commitments made by political parties regarding the rights of gender and sexual minority.

There are a lot of comments on her status which clearly shows this has dismayed sexual and gender minority. Simran Sherchan, Gauri Nepali, Puspa Lama among others has commented on it.

Commenting on status, Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung criticized such tendencies of political parties saying that it could be established as culture.
