Kathmandu (Pahichan) April 2 – Media person Mahabir Bishokarma has said that it is his responsibility to help the members of homosexual and transgender. Bishokarma is a host of Radio program titled Bahakineman at Thaha Sanchar 99.4 . He said that he wanted to accommodate gender and sexual minority in his radio program.
While running the radio program, he is providing separate telephone numbers to male and female. For the transgender, according to him, he is providing both telephone numbers.
“As a Dalit member, I am facing discrimination, the members of gender and sexual minority are facing the same situation,” he said adding that members of this community have not approached in the program.
“I am waiting the time when members of this community call in my radio so that I could talk with them,” said Bisokarma. He suggested members of this community to come out with their identity.
According to him, without making voices strong, it would be difficult to achieve the rights. He is of the view that only mentioning the rights in constitution would not guarantee the implementation.
“We should formulate laws. But formulating laws are not sufficient. There is a law but I am still facing discrimination,” Bishokarma said. He underlined the need of representation of this community in state mechanisms.
