Civil union rights for homosexuals : Lawmaker Bidari


Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 7 – Politburo member of CPN(Maoist Center) and Lawmaker Ram Narayan Bidari has said that civil union rights should be provided for homosexual people immediately.

Speaking to Pahichan, the Maoist lawmaker said in many countries there are the provisions of civil union rights which allows to live together.

These laws are prevalent in those countries which have not formulated same-sex marriage. He said such laws could be formulated in Nepal without any delay.

“The laws comes after a long process of research, there is a need of extensive research before making same-sex laws,” said Bidari. There is a need of detail study of pros and cons of same-sex marriage, he said.
