Kathmandu (Pahichan) January 5 – Chairman of Press Council Nepal Borna Bahadur Karki has said that national media should adopt inclusive policy to cement their national reach and character.
Speaking to Pahichan, Karki said as constitution has ensured the rights of LGBTI, media should offer job to the members of this community.
Karki said constitution has provided equality and rights of proportional representation. Karki said as transgender is gift of nature, there should not be any discrimination.
He said media should play a leading role in the society showing the example of inclusiveness. He said Press Council Nepal has prepared guidelines of women and children in order to make them inclusive. He said transgender should themselves should be proactive to secure their rights.
