BDS appeals its members to fight in local elections
Kathmandu (Pahichan) April 21 – Blue Diamond Society has urged the members of gender and sexual minority to file their candidacy in the local election choosing the party ideologically close to them. Chairman of BDS Pinky Gurung and Executive Director Manisha Dhakal jointly made such appeal asking to file candidacy in the local level elections.
They have said that it is appropriate time to push the campaign to a new height through politics. The BDS has already requested to inform about the nomination of candidacy.
“It is a matter of pride that members of this community are getting constitutional rights first time in Nepal’s political history,” the appeal reads. The appeal states that members are free to choose the party they want.
The appeal further states that such candidacy helps to translate the commitment made by political parties. Dhakal and Gurung also requested to start the campaign after ensuring their candidacy. The BDS has requested to provide the names of those willing to fight.
