Kaski (Pahichan) September 24 – Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung has said that she joined the Naya Shakti after receiving a commitment of addressing the demands of gender and sexual minority.
In a national council meeting held in Pokhara, Gurung said he was associated with Naya Shakti to ensure the access of this community from society to nation.
“The issue of minority cannot become national issues until they are taken up by political parties, therefore I joined Naya Shakti. Our issues should be the priority issues of all political parties,” said Gurung.
Gurung said she always feels pride to become the transgender rather than feeling regretted. She said that all political parties should support their campaign. She underlined the need of making all the parties inclusive to build a new Nepal and increase the influence of political parties.
“To increase the influence of Naya Shakti, there is a need of extending organization at the local level. There should be proportional representation at the local level,” Gurung said.
